Assistant Chief Forrest Campbell began his career as a firefighter with Golden Gate Fire District in 2001. Through the years with Golden Gate Fire District, Assistant Chief Campbell became an Engineer and then a Lieutenant. After the formation of Greater Naples Fire District between East Naples Fire District and Golden Gate Fire District in 2014, Assistant Chief Campbell became a Battalion Chief in 2016. In these twenty years, he was a member of the Dive Rescue Team, and has been involved in various committees to assist in steering the department into the future.
In May of 2021, he was promoted to the rank of Assistant Chief of Operations. In this position, he oversees the day-to-day operations of all shift personnel in the department. Each shift has three Battalion Chiefs, for a total of nine, who report directly to Assistant Chief Campbell and who oversee the remaining Captains, Lieutenants, Engineers, and Firefighters.
When not on duty, Assistant Chief Campbell enjoys spending time with his family and outdoor recreational activities.
