The Greater Naples Fire Rescue District extends our heartfelt thanks to the residents who voted in favor of the millage increase in August 2024. Your support is instrumental in enabling us to continue providing high-quality fire rescue and emergency services to our community.
Understanding the Timing of Fund Availability
While the funds from the millage increase were approved in August 2024, they will not be available to the District until after October 1, 2025. This delay is due to the timing of property tax assessments and the fiscal calendar. Property taxes in Florida are typically levied in the fall and collected over the following year, with funds becoming available to local taxing authorities after the start of the new fiscal year on October 1.
