GREATER NAPLES FIRE RESCUE DISTRICT receives FEMA grant:
“Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP)”
Following the hardships of Hurricane Ian, FEMA enacted a federal grant program called the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP), to help provide governing entities the necessary funds to reinforce building infrastructure, in order to mitigate damage and harm during hazard situations.
The Greater Naples Fire Rescue District has been graciously awarded assistance from FEMA through the HMGP to aid the District’s efforts to strengthen the Station Envelope, which will provide funding for the following improvements:
- Connector.
Station 71
New roof; hurricane-rated bay doors; and a hurricane-rated front access door.
- Connector.
Station 72
New hurricane-rated bay doors.
- Connector.
Station 73
Enhanced roof hardening; new hurricane-rated bay doors; and a hurricane-rated front access door.
- Connector.
Station 22
New hurricane-rated bay doors.

These improvements will provide proper safety and security to station personnel, and will also provide improved protection of station apparatus, and station infrastructure during hazard situations.
