Greater Naples Fire Rescue Station Refresh:
Health & Safety Improvements
Thanks to the Millage increase, the District is now able to move forward with the following improvements to the health and safety features of its stations, including:
∗ The items below are a general list and not all-inclusive; other items may be added as needs arise.


- Creating airlock vestibules between apparatus bays and living quarters;
- Enclosing or relocating of station bay ice machines to prevent exhaust fumes from contaminating ice;
- Enclosing and properly ventilating rooms that store firefighter protective gear to reduce exposure to carcinogens; which also includes the replacement of non-functional, and the replacement of some currently non-existent, bay ventilation systems to reduce exposure to carcinogens;
- Upgrading station alerting systems with new technology, such as ramping tones and red LED night lighting, individual Dorm Alerts, etc;
- Replacing of carpeted areas with hard flooring to reduce dust and germs;
- Cleaning and repair of HVAC Systems;
- Kitchen upgrades as needed;
- A re-painting of facilities;
- Stations will see minor adjustments made to the interior layouts to account for IT Rooms and Janitorial Closets, and to bring these facilities up to the current standards and codes;
- and lastly, the repair of outdoor parking areas and drainage systems.
