Deputy Chief Chris Diaz began his career in 2007 as a Firefighter/EMT with East Naples Fire Control and Rescue District. Chief Diaz rose through the ranks holding the positions of Driver/Engineer, Lieutenant, Battalion Chief, and receiving his appointment to Deputy Chief in 2024. His responsibilities in this role include overseeing both the Operations and Training Divisions.
Deputy Chief Diaz highly values formal education and currently holds a Masters in Public Administration from Florida Gulf Coast University, a Bachelors in Public Safety Management and Associates Degrees in both Fire Science Technology and Emergency Medical Services from Florida Southwestern State College. He is also a Certified District Manager through Florida State University and Fire Officer IV certified through the Florida State Fire College.
Deputy Chief Diaz is passionate about preparing our future firefighters and fire service leaders to better serve our community. Outside of work Deputy Chief Diaz enjoys spending time with family and friends, outdoor activities, traveling and continuing to learn.
