Planning and Growth Management

 

The Planning and Growth Management Section is responsible for Organizational Research and Development, Strategic Planning, Governing Document Promulgation, Emergency Preparedness, and Fleet operations. The Section is comprised of seven individuals consisting of a Deputy Chief, Division Chief, and four Emergency Vehicle Technicians.

The Organizational Research and Development Branch continually evaluates new, cost saving, innovative technologies and processes to support the District’s long-term, strategic initiatives. Planning for the future as well as sustainment of existing resources remains a key objective.

The Strategic Plan Branch manages the District’s formal plan and guides staff as the organizations implements actions. The Branch monitors the accomplishments and results, recommends modifications and reports on the progress. Finally, the Branch is responsible to coordinate annual updates with the District’s Strategic Planning consultants.

Emergency Management and Preparedness planning is a critical and continuous process; implementing and monitor all Emergency Preparedness planning efforts. The Branch works closely with Collier County Bureau of Emergency Services Emergency Management, the Collier County Sheriff’s Office and fire rescue agencies countywide.

The Fleet Maintenance Branch operates a full-service facility for the repair and maintenance of all fire apparatus and support vehicles. The rolling stock consist of approximately 115 apparatus, vehicles, marine vessels, and trailers. In addition, the branch provides contracted Fleet services for the City of Marco Island Fire Rescue.
